HOW TO APPLY FOR
RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL)
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) with Elevare Training allows you to turn your existing skills, knowledge and industry experience into a nationally recognised qualification. If you have relevant work experience, previous training or industry evidence, RPL can help you achieve your qualification faster without repeating learning you already know. Complete the enquiry form to find out if you’re eligible for RPL and receive personalised guidance anywhere in Australia.
At Elevare Training Group (RTO 46372), we offer Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) to individuals with experience in their field who are seeking formal qualifications. RPL is a process that acknowledges your previous knowledge and experience, allowing you to gain formal recognition for your existing skills. This can reduce the time needed to achieve your qualification.
If you’re an experienced cosmetic tattoo technician, nurse, or beauty therapist looking to gain recognition for your skills in cosmetic tattooing, beauty, or infection control, you can apply for a pre-screening assessment to determine your eligibility.
Upon successful assessment, you may receive credit for relevant units, saving both time and money. Our skilled assessors will guide you through the RPL process, assisting you in identifying and presenting evidence of your competencies. For registered nurses, we offer a fast track version of our HLTINF005 Maintain infection prevention for skin penetration procedures.
Please email us on [email protected] if you think you may qualify for Recognition of Prior Learning and would like to find out more.
Common Questions
Is your training nationally recognised?
Yes! Elevare Training Group is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 46372). All of our training is accredited and nationally recognised.
Can I complete the training from home?
Yes. Our infection control units HLTINF005 and SHBBINF002 can both be completed at home in a simulated environment or at your workplace/clinic. All cosmetic tattoo courses are a combination of virtual/online and in-person training. We have made as much of the course online as possible to give students the flexibility to learn from home to fit their own schedule. The practical elements are face-to-face and can be completed at a number of locations across Australia. Our business, social media and marketing units are 100% online.
Do you offer a payment plan?
We have a number of flexible payment options available for our students. Our standalone units such as infection control and business can be paid for using the PayPal pay in four option, allowing for the course fee to be split into four payments. Students enrolling in our cosmetic tattoo training can take advantage of payment plan options tailored specifically to their requirements and to fit their individual learning plan.
Do I need to have an autoclave?
No. We have a number of options for students who are required to demonstrate their competence in the use of an autoclave. They can either be employed in a workplace with access to sterilisation equipment, OR set up a simulated salon in their home, OR have access to a workplace with sterilisation equipment, OR be in driving proximity the RTO premises (Salisbury) so that the teacher can assess them.
How long do I have to complete the course?
Our infection control units HLTINF005 and SHBBINF002 need to be completed within three months of a student’s start date. As the course is self-paced depending on individual commitments, we say that the unit can be completed between 2-12 weeks.
Do you grant extensions?
Yes. We can provide students with the option to extend for an additional fee.
How long do I need to wait to have my assessments marked?
We ask that you allow up to 48 business hours/three business days to receive feedback once you have submitted your assessment. While we endeavour to have marking completed quicker than this, we need to allow for our assessment team receiving high volumes of submissions from time to time.
Which infection control course is right for me?
Both HLTINF005 and SHBBINF002 cover the same core infection control knowledge and practical skills, with only slight differences in industry focus. The key distinction is in state recognition: SHBBINF002 is accepted in all Australian states except Queensland, while HLTINF005 is recognised nationwide, including Queensland. For students wanting Australia-wide portability—especially if you plan to work or offer services in Queensland—HLTINF005 is the most universally valid option.
Is infection control training required for a PAS licence?
Yes. These units are mandatory to apply for a Personal Appearance Services (PAS) Licence and are accepted by councils across Australia.
Do I need to complete the full Diploma of Cosmetic Tattoo to carry out cosmetic tattoo procedures?
You do not need to complete the full diploma to be able to learn a skill and run your own business! Choose an individual skill set course – brows, lips or eyeliner – and work as a specialist in that field. And yes, they’re accredited.
